SPECIAL PROSECUTOR BEGINS INVESTIGATIONS INTO SUSPECTED CORRUPTION IN RESPECT OF CADET OFFICERS RECRUITMENT
The office of the Special Prosecutor has indicated its readiness in commencing an investigation in respect of recruitment to cadet officers training at the Ghana Police Academy. This is to determine if there was any favouritism or nepotism as alleged in the public domain and deal with it as such.
In a press release from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Thursday, 17 March 2022, which was signed by the special prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, it made mentions of investigating suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in respect of the recruitment exercise of Course 51 of Cadet Officers Training at the Ghana Police Academy.
The release further establishes that the investigation targets specific cases of alleged corruption and corruption-related offences of the use of the office for profit, abuse of power, favouritism, nepotism, victimisation and the selection of unqualified persons.
Office of the Special Prosecutor – Ghana is a specialised independent anti-graft agency. It investigates ONLY corruption and other conduct of corruption-related offences.
