NANA ONE MORE MOVEMENT LAUDS CHAIRMAN WONTUMI AND PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO FOR THE ASHANTI NOMINEES.
We write to laud President Akufo-Addo for honouring the region. With boundless gratitude for the confidence placed in the appointees from the region, and with an unswerving resolve on their part to honour that trust, we humbly extend our deepest gratitude, respect and appreciation to the president for the number of appointments given the Ashanti Region. These appointments are a clear attestation of the President’s belief in the capacity of the people from the region.
We also extend our gratitude to all others who made this possible. In particular, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Mr. Wontumi), who astutely led the region in securing this number of deputy ministerial appointments at a time that the president has decided to reduce the size of the government. Chairman Wontumi has clearly defined an ambitious agenda that has made the region profoundly dominate the others in the government. Our debt to his courage and vision is simply immeasurable. Â
As the Regional Chairman of the party, he promised, among others, to ensure that the stronghold is given a lion-share of the ministerial appointments. True to his word, the Deputy Ministers-designate list, as released by the President, has an impressive number of nine (9) nominees from the Ashanti Region to the delight of the party people from the region, and they are;
- William Owuraku Aidoo (Deputy Minister-designate, Energy)
- Mavis Nkansah Boadu (Deputy Minister-designate, Roads & Highways)
- Kwaku Asante Boateng (Deputy Minister-designate, Railways)
- Kofi Amankwah Manu (Deputy Minister-designate, Defence)
- Benito Owusu Bio (Deputy Minister-designate, Lands & Forestry)
- Ama Pomaa Boateng (Deputy Minister-designate, Communications)
- Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong (Deputy Minister-designate, Foreign Affairs)
- Yaw Frimpong Addo (Food & Agriculture)
- Collins Ntim (Deputy Minister-designate, Local Government & Rural Development)
Lawyer John Kumah (Deputy Minister-designate, Finance)
We therefore take this opportunity to appeal to the Regional Chairman that, he pushes for more slots for the region in the subsequent set of appointments, particularly, the heads of the quasi-government institutions, and also push for completion of all on-going developmental projects in the region, particularly, the roads.
We also seize this opportunity to assure the President that, the people of the region will continue to rally behind his government as we seek to break the 8 come 2024.
Thank you once again, Mr. President. Thank you, Chairman Wontumi, and congratulations to all nominees from the Ashanti Region.
Signed :
