ECG Boss is one of the transformational and hardworking MDs’ under Akufo-Addo regime.
The Managing Director of the Electricity company of Ghana, Kwame Agyeman-Budu, has demonstrated since his appointment, his solid commitment, determination and hardwork towards putting the customers of ECG first. The transformation which the ECG has seen under his administration, from stabilization and supply of electricity in recent times. This has made accessibility for buying of light very easy and digital which has, undoubtedly bring to bear ease and comfort to Ghanaians. Today, we are able to buy light on our mobile phone.
Indeed, many a Ghanaian have expressed their gratitude to him for his transformational efforts at ECG. It is thus, not surprising that the incompetent NDC and their allies at the ECG are hell bent on seeing the visionary MD of ECG out. The issues raised by these destructive forces are addressed below:
The MD, upon heeding to the request of staffs in building a canteen for staff when the request came from the staff themselves is being alleged for doing wrong in approving this request? What is the wrong by the MD putting first, the welfare of ECG staff ?
Also, on the issue of outsourcing ECG’s SLT collection as advance payment of bill, it is instructive to note that, it is only a mere proposal that has been submitted by a company just as other proposals are brought to ECG from Suppliers all the time. Not all proposals received are accepted. Indeed, a new board must be set before considering the proposal. This makes it very strange that, some cabals would cheapen themselves with this falsehood.
Finally, on the issue of award of contracts (substation) sighted as breach of procurement law, that is a contract beyond the approval threshold of the MD. Essentially, this is a contract that needs the approval of the board of directors of the company. So how can these cabals accuse the MD of a breach of procurement processes when that contract is beyond his authority?
It appears strongly that, the cabals are only caught by their own discomfort with the transformational leadership by the ECG Boss, Kwame Agyeman-Budu and they think the only way to distract him is to get the President Akufo-Addo to appoint their weak paymasters so as to sabotage the NPP and Akufo-Addo Government.
