Chairman Wontumi to once again decide the Regional Executive members of the NDC – Aide
The Political Assistant for the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Nana Adu Poku Frefre has indicated the intentions of the leader in the region to influence the ongoing internal elections of the opposition National Democratic Congress by deciding the executives that will be fragile to his strategies and tactics in the upcoming general elections.
“This was revealed by the Aide in a Facebook post explaining that this approach by Chairman Wontumi is to ensure absolute preservation of the NPP’s dominance in the Ashanti Region for the 2024 elections and beyond. The post is shared below;
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako is making a fervent vow that he will once again determine who becomes the Regional Executive members for the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region.
As he did in the immediate past two regional elections of the NDC, Chairman Wontumi influenced the outcome of their recently-held constituency elections in the region, and would not rest on his laurels till he decides the composition of their regional executive committee as well. This is part of steps toward the absolute preservation of the NPP’s dominance in the Ashanti Region for 2024 and beyond.
We seize this opportunity to wish the NDC a violence-free regional elections, albeit, pockets of violence, standoff, and even in some cases, no elections, characterising their internal elections in the region and across the country.
