Call off strike – Labour Commission directs SSA-UOG
This was after the commission managed to secure an interlocutory injunction from the High Court.
In a press statement released in Accra yesterday, the commission instructed the striking workers to comply with the directive of the commission, which was issued on Wednesday, January 27, this year.
The National Labour Commission (NLC) has directed the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UOG), its executive officers, members, agents, servants and employees to call off its industrial strike.
Under the directive, the commission urged the parties to go back to the negotiation table to negotiate on non-basic allowance and when the Tier Two pension arrears would be paid.
Three months were given to the parties to engage in the negotiations and report to the commission.
The directive also urged the government to do everything possible to pay the pension arrears that was outstanding by the end of March this year.
