THE POPULAR and controversial Chief of Agric Nzemaa in Kumasi, Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo II, has reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the wishes of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, by working hard to support the Vice President, Dr. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia’s presidential bid.
The famous traditional leader, who is also a member of the National Executive Council and Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Disciplinary Committee, says he will devote his time and resources to support the Vice President’s ambition in line with the wishes of his King, The Asantehene.
According to him, he cannot bend the wishes of His Royal Majesty, who has openly described the Vice President, Dr. Alhaji Bawumia as his true son.
“If Otumfuo himself says he loves Bawumia as his son, whom am I to oppose it, He is my overlord and I will do what he wishes ” He pledged.
Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, who is seen as a major pillar for the Vice President in the Ashanti Region as far as the campaign for the flagbearers of the NPP is concerned, says he has absolutely no doubt in his mind that Dr. Bawumia will make a fine leader and President of the country.
Opponents of the Vice President in the presidential race see Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo as a major threat, especially in their attempts to penetrate the Ashanti Region which is seen as a major trump card for the Second Gentleman of the land.
But Nana Nkansah Boadu says he is only carrying the wishes of the Asantehene, and that there is no way he can go against him.
