ASANTE KOTOKO AMEND THEIR 2022/2023 OFFICIAL KITS WITHOUT THE IMAGE OF OTUMFOUR
The African giant, Kumasi Ashanti Kotoko Sporting Club has changed their kit for the 2022/2023 football season after it was unveiled some months ago. The initial kit was having the image of the great king for the Asante Kingdom, Nana Otumfour Osei Tutu II as ceremonial apparel.
Days after the release of the first kit, it was met with much condemnation from the football society depicting it as a gross breach of the rules and regulations of the world governing body. Others also formulated various hypotheses to discredit the essence of the image in the kit.
In a Facebook update by the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League Winners, the club has officially announced another new kit which doesn’t have the image of the King of the Asante Kingdom. This action is believed to be a result of the backlash it received when it was first released.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be representing Ghana in the African Champions League for the 2022/2023 after winning the 2021/2022 league and is expected to make much impact on the continent. Meanwhile, the Ghana Premier League outfit has announced to have its preseason in Turkey ahead of the new season.
