SHATTA WALE TO PAY GHC 2,000 FOR HIS FALSE NEWS PUBLICATION
The controversial dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has been slapped with a GHC 2000 fine by His Honour Emmanuel Essandoh after pleading guilty to a false news publication. This comes on the back of his alleged faking to have been shot by an unknown assailant last year.
On Wednesday 29 June 2022, the Low Tempo hitmaker after pleading not guilty on October 21 2021 ate back his words by admitting his charges and pleaded at the mercy of the judge.
Shatta wale standing in the docket of the court expressed his remorse for the action and asserted that he was only acting in a playful manner and never thought it could end up to be a serious offence. He, therefore, prayed to the court to change his plea and be pardoned.
The counsel for the artiste stated that although the act of his client was untenable, however, it has reduced the level of false prophecies in the country since then. Therefore, on behalf of his client, he prayed to the court to be lenient with his judgment.
His Honour Emmanuel Essandor accepted the remorseful prayer of Shatta wale and convicted him to a fine of GHC 2000 in default of three months in prison. It can be confirmed that the accuser, Charles Nii Armah Mensah has paid the fined and has been set free accordingly.
